Overview
The Memorandum of our Association was amended and our governance restructed in November 2002. Members on the Term Councul of Management are not only outstanding individuals, but also team players who work tirelessly for the Association, seek excelleance in what they do, and cooperate with one another to create new miletones in the jewellery trade. Council members have full authority to make and carry out policies in their respective areas of responsibility, and are seen to making strategic moves to improve the efficiency and flexibility of their departments, in order to create greater business opportunities and enhance benefits for the membership.
The New Structure and Committees:
On the Council of Management, apart from the President, who is ultimate policy maker, the position of Chairman has been filled by a respected member of the trade, who will coordinate and execute all matters relating to the Association in terms of business, administration and strategy. There are three Vice-Chairman, who are responsible for promoting the functions and policies of their respective divisions as follows:
- Committee of HKJ&SL , Finance Committee and Membership Committee
- Technology & Training Committee, Promotion & Communication Committee and Welfare & Recreation Committee
- Exhibitions & Overseas Affairs Committee (China Affairs, Southeast Affairs, USA & Europe Affairs)
In addition, valuable support is provided by the new Honorary Life Chairman. With years of experience in the trade, he has contributed and continous to contribute tremendously to the Association in all aspects.
