Certification and Equipment

Certification
Since testing commenced in 1993, the laboratories have issued over 25,000 certificates, 90% of which have been for jadeite pieces, thereby establishing a very large data base. Three types of certificate are currently in use, namely: the Infra-red Testing Report, the Certificate of Jade Identification and the Report of Jade Identification. Certificates with a green background are issued for natural jadeite while reports for treated jadeite and other jade simulants such as aventurine are issued with a grey background.
